About the Project
Bookvid is an online meeting platform offering group and 1-on-1 sessions with features like real-time chat, donation support, e-commerce, live streaming, and recording. It also provides marketplace & social functionality, so users can register their profile on the platform and create free or priced meeting slots, allowing people to book meetings with their celebrities.
Key Responsibilities
- Led migration from PHP/DailyJS to a modern stack (Next.js, Python/Flask, LiveKit)
- Developed meeting hosting, booking, and logging functionalities using Python/Flask
- Replaced DailyJS with LiveKit, enhancing scalability and meeting performance
- Integrated real-time chat via CometChat
- Implemented multi-payment workflows (Stripe, PayPal, Venmo) and automated Google Tasks (cron jobs)
- Enabled donation and shopping features via Shopify Plus
- Integrated live streaming to Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch using LiveKit Egress
- Implemented emailing features and calendar invites using SendGrid and Cronofy
